Manfred Kurschner

President, CEO & Director 


Mr. Kurschner is a venture capitalist with 35 years of business experience in managing and financing both private and public companies. Highly regarded for his management skills, network of contacts and attention to detail, Mr. Kurschner has successfully owned, managed, directed and advised private and public companies in financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and investor relations since 1973. He has been a director or officer of a number of public companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and its predecessor stock exchanges.


Andrew Carter

Director 


Mr. Carter entered the mining industry in the 1970s, managing exploration crews in the Leonora and Kimberly regions of Western Australia. He graduated from Midland Technical College after studying accounting. In 1988, Mr Carter was appointed Chief Executive of RAC Finance Limited, a non-bank owned commercial financier in Western Australia. During this time, he was appointed Chairman and Director of Australian Finance Conference Limited and represented the industry as a panel member of the Commercial Tribunal for Western Australia. Mr. Carter is currently President and CEO of Tinka Resources Limited, a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, and also serves as an officer and director of other public reporting companies.

 

Nick DeMare

Director 


Mr. DeMare holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. Mr. DeMare is the President of Chase Management Ltd., a private company which provides a broad range of administrative, management and financial services to private and public companies engaged in mineral exploration and development, gold and silver production, oil and gas exploration and production and venture capital. Mr. DeMare indirectly owns 100% of Chase. Mr. DeMare currently serves as an officer and director of various public-reporting companies.


Harvey Lim

CFO & Corporate Secretary 


Mr. Harvey Lim holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member in good standing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Mr. Lim was employed by Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP) from 1981 to 1988. From 1988 to 1991, Mr. Lim was employed as controller with Ingot Management Ltd. Since 1991, Mr. Lim has been employed by Chase Management as controller. Mr. Lim currently serves as an officer and director of other public reporting companies.


Dale Brittliffe, B.Sc., P.Geo.

Vice President of Exploration 


Mr. Brittliffe has over 13 years experience with mineral exploration and mining projects in Australia, Canada and Mexico. A graduate of Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia, Mr. Brittliffe has been a key member in numerous exploration projects for gold, nickel sulphides, copper, silver-lead-zinc and pegmatite-hosted commodities. Prior to gaining his degree, he worked in many aspects of the mining industry including prospecting and gold processing operations in the goldfields of Western Australia. Since moving to Canada in 2006 Mr. Brittliffe has managed project specific exploration for Astral Mining Corporation and Kootenay Gold Inc in British Columbia and Mexico. Successes include recent work at the Jumping Josephine Project resulting in the definition of a high-grade, gold bearing stockwork zone now the subject of further work by Astral. Mr. Brittliffe is a registered professional geoscientist in British Columbia and, with his broad range of experience in mineral exploration and processing operations, brings practical expertise and enthusiasm to Astral Mining's team.
