BARRIERE RIDGE - GOLD, SILVER & COPPER PROPERTY

Barriere Ridge property covers 8,304 hectares and is located within the Kootenay Terrane, underlain by rocks of the Palaeozoic Eagle Bay Assemblage in close proximity to the mid-cretaceous Baldy Batholith. The property hosts several Minfile occurrences, most notably a historical polymetallic vein showing (Minfile 082M 069, Silver Minnow), which returned 925.7 g/t silver and 0.69 g/t gold over 0.61m from vein material hosted by limestones and schists of the Lower Eagle Bay Formation (historical values - EMPR Annual Report 1925). 

The project is located within a district boasting past producers in Samatosum Mountain (1989-92) and the historic Homestake and Windpass mines. Advanced exploration projects in the area include Yellowhead Mining Inc's Harper Creek Copper deposit, 20km north of Barriere Ridge. Calculations reported as late as August 2010 are available on Yellowhead's website and estimate an indicated resource of 569 million tonnes averaging 0.32% Cu. Barriere Ridge adds to Astral's claim holdings, bringing the balance of claims in the district to 61 claims for a total of 27,069 hectares.

Astral is currently completing data compilation in preparation for reconnaissance work in spring 2011. Barriere Ridge is located 6km to the west of Astral's Honeymoon property and Astral considers relationship strategic and intends to conduct exploration over both properties in conjunction during the exploration season.
